Producer of Green Methanol from renewable sources

FinnMethanol

The bridge between the Present and the Green Future
for Shipping Companies.

The Scalability

Streams of Municipal Solid Waste from domestic sources in Finland are enough for yearly production of over 1 million tons of green methanol, enough to power around 500 cargo ships in 3000 – 4000 GT range (~100m long ships). This is in the same order of magnitude as the total gross tonnage Finnish merchant fleet.

The Product

In the future, traffic in regional waters of EU is subjected to EU Carbon Permits. This change will introduce the need to buy EU Carbon Permits when using fossil fuels. The extra cost can be avoided using green methanol. Green methanol is liquid fuel manufactured from renewable sources.

The Process

FinnMethanol process for Green methanol uses Municipal Solid Waste as feedstock. Methanol conversion is achieved through gasification and catalysis.

The Customer

FinnMethanol customer base consists of green shipping companies and those interested in avoiding EU Carbot Permit costs.

The Opportunity

Currently FinnMethanol is raising funds for a green methanol production plant located in a Finnish coastal city.
